The Test

{Luke 4:1-13}

Luke answers the questions “Where do we find a savior?” and “What do we look for in a savior?” Through His temptations, Jesus proves Himself to be a Savior of singular focus: to seek and save the lost. Jesus revealed Himself to Luke and other disciples, and through the Holy Spirit He reveals Himself to us, too.

The Role of John the Baptist

While John had the joy of preparing the way for the Christ, he experienced both sorrow and anger over unrepentant hearts. John’s baptism was one of repentance. Imagine his joy to see Christ baptize with the power to forgive and save.
